The NPE2009 Space Draw will be held February 19-20, 2008, at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The NPE2009 Space Draw  is conducted by SPI and the NPE Committee (“Management”). Since the inception of NPE in 1946, the Space Draw event has represented the initial selection and assignment of exhibit space.

Witness the Drawing Live

Management is pleased to announce that interactive floor plans will be posted online and updated as companies select space during the NPE2009 Space Draw.

A company representative must be present onsite to select space at theSpace Draw and now will have the opportunity to consult their “home” office to review competitor locations, discuss flexibility of booth size and location, and optimize space selection.

If a company representative is not present at the Space Draw, Management will select and assign space to the company based on booth selections provided on the company’s NPE2009 Exhibit Space Application & Contract.

If booth selections noted on a company’s contract are not available, Management will assign space comparable to selections.

Exhibits

Major NPE2009 official contractors and sponsors of the NPE2009 Space Draw will be present prior to and following your space selection so that you can begin to plan your participation at NPE2009.

NPE2009 Space Draw Guidelines

NPE Space Draw Process

Exhibit space is selected and assigned through a lottery-style drawing based on SPI membership status and NPE show history. SPI Members are entitled to NPE benefits including a discount on exhibit space rates and drawing space prior to non-members. To be eligible for NPE benefits, SPI members must maintain continuous membership* and all dues must be paid in full prior to NPE2009 move-in. New members must join SPI prior to December 31, 2007, and maintain continuous membership* paying all dues in full prior to NPE2009 move-in to be eligible for NPE benefits. For SPI Membership information, please contact SPI at +1.202.974.5213 or e-mail: spimembership@plasticsindustry.org.

*Continuous membership: SPI members must maintain their membership in good standing and stay up-to-date on payment of dues. Members who allow their membership to be suspended for non-payment of membership dues will forfeit ALL future NPE benefits. SPI membership dues are invoiced annually on November 15 and are due January 15 of the following year. Any company that fails to submit their dues payment by January 15 will be considered as pending membership suspension and will no longer be considered a member in good standing. The company will be notified of their pending membership suspension status and SPI membership will be suspended if dues payment is not received by January 31 and company will be assessed space at the non-member rate and their space may be relocated.

Companies earn “one” show history for each NPE in which they exhibited and fulfilled all contractual obligations.

Companies are assigned a drawing priority designation based on SPI membership status and NPE show history.

The highest priority designation for NPE2009 is assigned to SPI member companies that have exhibited in all 25 NPE shows—designated to the Member 25 category—and descends to the lowest priority designation of Non-Member 0 category.

The order in which companies select and are assigned space is determined through the random selection of companies within each category.

The Member 25 category will be the first category to select and be assigned space for NPE2009. The Drawing of the Member 25 category will be conducted during the opening of the NPE2009 Space Draw on February 19, 2008.

The Drawing of  all other categories (Member 24 through Non-Member 0) will be pre-drawn by Management on February 18, 2008, in the McCormick Place West Ballroom (W375e). The Drawing results for these categories will be available at the event on February 19, 2008.

NPE Space Drawing Eligibility

For inclusion in the Space Draw, companies must submit an NPE2009 Exhibit Space Application & Contract and deposit by February 1, 2008.

Upon receipt of a company’s contract and deposit, Management will notify the company of their drawing priority designation. A company may request verification of their drawing priority designation within 30 days of notification, but no later than February 1, 2008.

A company that submits a contract and fulfills all contractual obligations for NPE2009 will receive one show history.

Divisions/subsidiaries within a company may submit a separate contract and draw with the parent company upon prior approval and eligibility verification of Management. For divisions to be eligible to draw with the parent company, a written request must be submitted with all applicable contracts and deposits by February 1, 2008. If the parent company draws in the SPI member category, the parent company’s membership status must include the division/subsidiary or the division/subsidiary must maintain a continuous membership in SPI independently. Eligible divisions/subsidiaries that submit a contract independently and fulfill all contractual obligations for NPE2009 will also receive one show history.

Companies submitting contracts and deposits after February 1, 2008, may select space at the
Drawing, but will select space at the end of their drawing category in the order received.

NPE2009 Space Draw—The Event

The NPE2009 Space Draw is scheduled for February 19 & 20, 2008.

The highest drawing category (Member 25) will be conducted live, on-stage and descend from the Member 25 category through the Non-Member 0 category until all eligible companies have selected and been assigned space.

The projected time for concluding the Drawing each day is 7:00 p.m.

A short break will be held following the assignment of each category. During this time, companies that have been assigned space will have the opportunity to relocate their booth based on space available.

A company representative must be present to select space. If a company representative is not present, Management will select and assign space to the company based on booth selections provided on the company’s contract. If booth selections noted on a company’s contract are not available, Management will assign space comparable to selections.

Please refer to the display specifications posted in the NPE2009 Rules & Regulations prior to selecting space.

NO BOOTH SPACE will be divided during the Drawing.

Companies will be permitted to select spaces in combination and to purchase aisles between spaces that are not designated no cross aisles to form larger blocks of space upon approval of
Management.

If selecting multiple spaces with aisle space separating two or more booths with a plan to install archways or entrance units over said aisles, the company must purchase the aisles.

Spaces selected in combination with aisle space must form square or rectangular blocks of space.

No space will be assigned to an L-shaped booth formation.
